Tuesday, October 5th, 2010: Aaron Bates Chosen IL's #1 Batter
Aaron Bates, the gifted Pawtucket first baseman, really got the attention of the International League pitchers this past season. He battered them for 152 hits in 530 at-bats, 30 doubles, 3 triples, 25 home runs, 95 RBIs and scored 82 times. That top-notch hitting earned him the International League IL MVP for 2010.

Bates will get his trophy at the SBWA awards banquet this weekend.
Monday, October 4th, 2010: King of the Hill Announced by International League
Kris Johnson had an exceptional season in 2010. This Pawtucket mound mainstay captured the most votes and has been named the IL IL Pitcher of the Year honoree.

He posted these award-winning numbers this year:

17-7 record, 3.38 ERA, 26 GS, 189.1 IP, 165 HA, 45 BB, 115 K, .231 OBA.

The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010: IL Rewards Top Defenders for 2010
Ballhawk is a good name for the defensive elite, the players that make leather shine. Those awe-inspiring fielders that crash the wall, leap in the air and dive in the hole will be honored at tonight's SION awards banquet as the International League's Gold Glove winners. Here are this year's best:
