Wednesday, October 6th, 2010: 2010 #1 Batter Picked
Luke Gorsett of Springfield was the King of Swing in 2010, winning the TEX MVP in the Texas League.

This season he abused, bruised and used the TEX pitchers for a .316 average. Gorsett logged 155 hits in 490 at-bats, 18 doubles, 2 triples, 15 home runs, 62 RBIs and scored 90 times.

This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.
Tuesday, October 5th, 2010: McCormick Scores TEX Best Hurler Honors
The spotlight today is on Mark McCormick of the Springfield Cardinals. He was named the top pitcher in the Texas League and will be honored with the 2010 TEX Pitcher of the Year.

This season McCormick put up these award-winning numbers:

14-10 record, 2.66 ERA, 47 GS, 230.1 IP, 169 H, 118 BB, 251 K, .202 OBA.

This weekend the talented hurler will be given his trophy by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.
Monday, October 4th, 2010: Best Defenders Announced by TEX
SION's prestigious sports award banquet is tonight. It is a gala event to reward defensive excellence and present the Gold Glove winners for 2010. These are the guys with the best gloves in the Texas League:
