Monday, October 4th, 2010: Lane CAL's Top Hitter for 2010
Richard Lane, the very talented Visalia center fielder, certainly made his name known among California League hurlers this season. He hammered them for 184 hits, 41 doubles, 8 triples, 4 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 94 times. That kind of hitting earned him the California League CAL MVP for 2010.

He will get his trophy at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010: 2010 CAL CAL PItcher of the Year Announced
Chad Lee had a sensational 2010 season in the California League. The Stockton pitching machine received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's CAL PItcher of the Year recipient.

This season Lee starred with an impressive 18 and 1 record. In 33 starts he gave up 197 base hits and struck out 124 in 214 innings with a 2.61 ERA.

The SION Baseball Writers Association will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
Saturday, October 2nd, 2010: CAL Gold Glove Winners Announced
Making the play is the mark of great defenders. Spearing a liner, diving in the hole or crashing headlong into the wall makes no difference to these awe-inspiring fielders. Magicians they sometimes appear to be, showing up out of nowhere to rob a batter of a hit and to turn a hit into an out.

Pitchers love 'em, batters curse 'em...and fans are sometimes speechless. These defensive wizards will collect their 2010 California League Gold Gloves tonight:

Pitcher: Chad Lee (Stockton Ports)
Catcher: Josh Ford (Visalia Oaks)
First Baseman: Cesar Nicolas (Visalia Oaks)
