| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, October 5th, 2010: Lou O'Brien Chosen CAR's Top Batter
Lou O'Brien certainly made his presence felt in the Carolina League this year. The gifted first baseman for Kinston ripped opposing pitchers for a .356 batting average and ran away with the voting for the CAR MVP.
He collected 187 hits, 52 doubles, 2 triples, 14 home runs, 104 RBIs and scored 102 times.
O'Brien will get his trophy at the SBWA awards banquet this weekend.

| Monday, October 4th, 2010: CAR's #1 Pitcher is Stevens
Jeffrey Stevens was the most outstanding pitcher in the Carolina League this year and today was acclaimed the CAR Pitcher of the Year winner for his efforts.
Stevens had a marvelous season, going 19-4 with an impressive 1.84 ERA in 30 starts. He struck out 188 in 210.2 innings and limited opposing batters to a .215 batting average.
Stevens will be honored this weekend at the SION Baseball Writers Association annual awards banquet.
