| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, October 5th, 2010: Ángel Hernández Chosen MID's Premier Hitter
2010 was a very good year for Toledo Mud Hens first baseman Ángel Hernández, this year's Midwest League MID MVP recipient.
Hernández had a marvelous season, hitting .350 with a .406 on-base percentage. He totaled 191 hits, 21 doubles, 1 triple, 30 home runs, 117 RBIs and scored 102 runs.
For being named the MID's top batter, he will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Monday, October 4th, 2010: Erie's Averill, MID Pitcher of the Year Winner
The regular season is history and it is time to give out the awards. This year's winner of the prestigious Midwest League MID Pitcher of the Year is Erik Averill of the Erie Seawolves.
The 2010 trophy winner posted these stats this year: 21-6 record, 2.25 ERA, 34 GS, 224 IP, 198 H, 53 BB, 173 K, .233 OBA.
The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
